Archery ----------------------------------NON-Sport
Let's cut right to the chase here. Seeing that Geena Davis (the
actress in 'BeetleJuice') almost made the US Olympic archery team
after having only taken up archery for a year should completely
validate the idea that archery is not a sport.
If that doesn't convince you, how about the low score for
athleticism, conditioning, physical contact, and offense/defense
factors. Archery received an abysmal zero for the entire competition
classification. The reason for this low score is that the
competition is based on standing motionless, while everyone around
remains quiet and none of the other participants have any influence
over the other participants' performance. That flies in the face of
athleticism and competition.
Taking all of that into consideration archery doesn't even come
close to being a sport. Archery is fun, I'm sure we all loved doing
it in summer camp, which is why with a score of 27 it ranks as a
leisure activity.
FINAL WORD: LEISURE ACTIVITY
